Liquid Powder Coating - has anyone tried this?

That is pretty cool!! I especially like that X-treme Chrome!! I can think of a lot of uses for that!!

Whats the point? Just so your spraying a liquid instead of a powder? Why not just use paint for a third of the price?

You would have to buy your powder first and then this liquid to mix it with for $19.99 a pound. To me, it would seem easier to either paint or powdercoat but why bother comibining the two?

Good question, but my first thought would be (and I'm guessing) that maybe this stuff would be more durable? I did traditional powder coating on my Jag's IRS for that reason.

I'll tell you why this is sketchy or at best, not well described in their ad:

Take these two quotes:

"This new product allows you to coat products other than metals, such as: wood, plastic, ceramics, foam, etc."

&

"Cure temperatures will range from 300°F to 450°F, depending on the particular powder used"

I would like to see someone coat plastic or foam and then CURE it at 450 degrees. Seems like a good way to instantly melt your products.

I think the general idea here is to liquify your powder so that it can be applied
a.) without an electrical current
b.) without having to buy a powdercoating gun
c.) to get into smaller, more localized and detailed work

I just cant see why you wouldnt just use paint instead at that point??
As far as durability goes, this product uses standard powders that are no more durable than any other powder. The liquid for sale here is just the carrier I think.
