I have been looking for the link to rebuild a control head. I need to replace the wires in my TR3. I thought I saw this in a post not to long ago.

Hey Don:
This is Emmett from McComb. I met you at the NO show.
I'm putting together the 57 TR3.
Anyways, I tried to repair my control head, only to finally realise that all of the small parts weren't there. I gave up and bought a complete new head.
I have many control head parts, including a new wire harness, and button assembly if you could use them.
The article you are hunting is in the wiki section.
Good luck, Emmett

Thanks Emmett I will let you know.

Aloha Don,

Here is a link to a technical archive:

https://www.tr-register.com.au/files/technical.htm

in the second box down is an article written by Clive Elsdon titled "Disassembling the Control Head in the steering column" that provides a description of the process with photos and shows you all the bits inside. Althought the article does not describe reassmbly, you just kind of "reverse engineer" it back together.

Dave:
I just printed off the article that you referred to. What a find! I know that re-doing the control head is on my list so I was delighted to get the article. Pictures came out clear as a bell also.

Thanks a heap, Tinkerman

Thanks Dave that was the one I saw awhile back. Turns out the flasher relay quit on me. I am going to save pulling the control for this winter and replace wires and stator tube. I realy don't want to have the car apart right now.
