Can someone tell me if there is a standard length to which these 2 rods should be set? In Figure 10 under Fuel System in Service Manual they are identified as Long Link Shaft Assembly and Short Link Shaft Assembly. I believe in the past I just adjusted them so that they fit into the appropriate levers in the "at rest" position. Is that how it should be done or is there a specified standard length? I can't find any reference in the manual to indicate how they should be adjusted. If I missed it I apologize, but would appreciate a redirect to the information. Cheers, Mike

I don't believe there is. Too much variation in bodies and frames and how they sit relative to each other.

I start by setting the lever on the front carb so it makes about a 45 degree angle with the first rod, with the throttle closed. Then set the short rod so the bell crank is at 45. Check for free motion throughout the range. Then set the long rod so the pedal just hits the stop (or floor) when the throttle is fully open.
