line or hose to slave cylinder

The line going into the slave cylinder is copper and has a couple of threaded fittings at each end. Looking in the Moss and VB catalogs, I only see a rubber hose. It is listed for a 1275. Is this the only type of new line available?

Bugeyes have a hard line the whole way, 1275 or later cars have a soft line at the slave cyl end.

Thanks Jack. Do you know of a source? The flare is leaking.

No source unless you buy the whole set. However. a new bubble flare can be put on the old line. See the coils in it over by the dizzy, pleanty of line to cut an inch off and make a new flare.

Check with Ray, he lives in Athens also and may have to special tool. Otherwise ask around at the better places.

Failing finding someone with the right tool, if you have an Advanced Auto Parts (Discount Auto Parts) outlet near you, they do have the tool to do the job with, and you don't have to buy it, you can "loan" it from them. Basically they charge you for the tool (as a deposit) and then give you a refund when you return it!!! (be sure to get one that is capable of making the "bubble flare"!)
