Lime Rock Vintage Festival

I just updated my site with a ton of pictures from the Lime Rock Race Track Fall Show. Every Labor Day weekend they host 3 days of vintage racing and a extraordinary car show on Sunday. Just about all 1.5 miles of the track is lined with cars with the main straight holding the historic/concours/$$$$$$$ cars. Even the parking lot is like a car show. There had to be 50 - 60 real Cobra's from the 60's as well as 30 - 40 Mustang GT350 & GT500, mostly from the 60's. Not too much in the way of LBCs with a few Triumphs, MGs and Jags. My camera battery was rapidly dying so I focused on the cars that really caught my eye. I split my pictures between the race cars in the paddock and the show cars on the track. Let me know what you favorite is.

Just came back from the races. Triumphs TR3, Spitfire, GT6, on track racing. Strangely, no TR6's. Perfect weather with great racing.

FYI:The DB4 GTZ is polished aluminum.

Great pics...I really enjoyed them...too bad about the batteries. :hammer:

Pretty funny! I was just going to post photos from this event and realized Bob has already done so.

I actually took a photo of his TR6. Haha

Thanks for the FANTASTIC pictures. Lime Rock Park was a regular visit almost every holiday weekend when I lived in NY. The racing was always great, and I can see that the assortment of cars is now even better.

Ooops.... right color, wrong car. I didn't see that one. My car was parked behind another 6 with CT dealer plates.

Dying Camera Battery Cars.

Sort of like Desert Island CDs or Books or DVDs.

Gives us insight into which cars Bobby uses his dwindling battery to photograph.

Thanks for the photos.

When I go to a show I figure we all know what a TR3/4/6 etc looks like so I like to focus on the rare, unusual and weird cars :yesnod: The dying battery, however, did put a serious crimp in my style.......

If you check out the car show section on my site you'll see what I mean. It the orange/salmon colored bunch of links with the A Few Shows as the give away title.

O.K., more insight gained!

Ugh, so sorry I didn't make it. I live about 2 hours from Lime Rock and have been MANY times. Almost as good as the event is the last 40 mins drive to the track located in NW CT is a 25 mile two lane winding road (Rte. 7) which winds along the Housatonic River. Just gorgeous! Winding rivers, rolling hills, fall foliage, covered bridges, you name it! Easily in my "Top 3 Drives" list.
