I was going out for a ride in my 60 BT7 last week and as I went through my pre-trip light check, I discovered my signal flasher, right front signal flasher (parking light works), and right rear tail light (signal light works) all seemed to have gone bad since the last trip. What should I look for?

Burned out bulbs first.

After checking bulbs, check grounds with test light. See where current is not flowing. Does anything flash at all when you activate turn signals, if not, start with the flasher. When you say the right rear signal light works, do you mean only when you put on the brakes? or do you mean the parking light filament works.

Hey Tim,
I doubt it is a ground problem since the ground is a common connection between the brake and running lights. As you pull the bulbs out check for corrosion.

Rick, sounds to me like your turn signal toggle (on the steering wheel) isn't working. Try moving it several times back and forth. If that doesn't help check the connections leaving from the end of the steering column to the wiring harness in front.

If the signal works at the back, it most likely isn't the switch on the column.

I had similar issues with my lights, I found that the socket unit was old and had been repaired one too many times.
Along with the other items mentioned above, also check the light socket, I finally replaced it and the system is working fine now.
