ahhh
ok so one head light was out but it had gone out and came back last year so i figured it was a wire some where so I start buy cleaning the electrical contacts by the fuses and the voltege regualator.
now both head lights are out
the turn signals work the marker lights are on it seems to just be the high and low beam out.
of courec all the colour is faded of the wires there are the wires black under their multi colour cloth?
and what is the green wire doing going to the front of the car? mine is looking crispy but not finding anything logincal

Look at and clean the ground connections and the bullet connectors for the power. Look at the dimmer switch for corroded contacts. The headlight buckets are going to have a fairly short, 12 inch or so pigtail which leaves the bullet connectors exposed to water somewhere inside the wheel wells. Blue & White and Blue & Red for power for high and low beam and Black for ground.

Do they stop at the fuse box? All the color is gone.

Solved temporaliy
the issue was under the dash panel so i wiggled some wires and the lights are back on.
Im going to convert to halogane at some point soon
steve

MUST use relays if you use "halogane" lamps. The wiring will make one big "POOF!" of smoke if you don't. Maybe not right away, but when you least expect it.
Always use a voltmeter or test light. Probe for power with accessory on. You'll see exactly where the power stops due to a high resistance or broken connection.
