Lift the dot fasteners

What is the best way to attach these fasteners to a tonneau cover? I know that Moss sells a punch https://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=44231&SortOrder=1 but it seems expensive for an individual to use.
Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

specialized tools like that are expensive, I agree, they are not meant for 1-time use, but for upholstery shops who use them in 20 or more jobs before they need another one.

here's some suggestions:

try an upholstery shop, but chances are it will cost you more to have it done than to buy the tool and the fasteners. You can buy the tool and then resell it to get most of your money back. Find someone who will Rent or loan you the tool. Advertise to do the job for others and start your own service.

for tenax I picked up a 6" length of 1/4" pipe and filed one end into a sharp punch. Then used a block of scrap 2x4 as a base and punched out the holes. Worked like a charm.

For Tenax it does. For the Lift-a-Dots the elliptical shape and orientation of the "fangs" is tricky without the tool. I have one here and just did a tonneau. Took all of half an hour. The same tool is good to have for the soft top installation, too.

Thanks Eric, but I did place the order for one already. I was getting antsy about wanting to fit the tonneau, and after a few days of searching, I just pulled the trigger. Thanks for the offer.
