Hi Forum Folks! So, life long desire met, you ask? Short version. I had a neighbor next door who had a Triumph TR (4/6 not sure) . I was about 14 YO. I loved that car so much. He took me for rides, let me help clean it, etc. As I turned 16(driving age) the neighbor's family grew. So he offered the car to me and my father. My Dad said I would kill myself in that car, so no! Alas, my dream shattered. So at my ripe age I found a 1966 MGB. It needs a good rectification from body to motor, but seems a sound platform to start with and TR's are way to expensive now. In advance, I thank all of you for any sage advice, help, sources, and visits at the insane asylum. Looking forward to learning, and driving the "B"

Welcome to BCF. I got interested when my parents got me a 1955 Jaguar MkVII as my first car, a high school graduation present. They figured that big car would protect me from damage, even if I got hit by a Greyhound bus!
A 1966 MGB - that's a good choice to get back into the hobby. We'd sure enjoy some photos if you get a chance.

'66 was a transition year. Is the B a "pull-handle" or button door? Our '65 has pull-handles and my first one was a '66 with same and a five-main engine. That one was only a couple years old at the time so it was still as it left Abingdon.
