No inspection on vehicle with antique plates in Maine either.
When we bought our 3, I took it in for inspection and they said it didn't need it because of the antique plates. I had to read the inspection manual before I believed them. Now I carry a photocopy of the regulation just-in-case I get pulled and the police doesn't believe it either.
Makes me wonder when I see a POS Ford Esquire woody wagon from the 70s scratching it's way down the road on 2 good tires with antique plates and a pile of kids inside.
I would have thought a mode rigid inspection was in order for safety's sake.
