Spitfire LHD to RHD Conversion on '63 Spit

Hey all!

Has anyone ever done this on an early spit? Seems like it would be pretty straight forward
RHD steering rack, switch places with battery and hydraulics, brake and clutch hard lines, move the column over... anything else I'm missing?

I not saying I WILL do this, just curious!

Forgot the center guages. Sorry.

More likely to find someone who has done this on a UK forum. The only other thing you would need to to is drill the hole in the bulkhead for the steering shaft. It would be a fairly easy conversion.

That's essentially it, but it likely would be easiest to somehow obtain a RH steering bulkhead from a scrapped home market Spitfire and graft that whole piece in, rather than trying to modify the existing LH steering bulkhead.

There probably are a few other minor details (wiper motor location and such).

But the burning question in my mind is WHY? Unless you're moving to a left-hand-rule-of-the-road country....
