I once had an opportunity to buy this for $10,000:

Thanks for the tip Paul. I just found out that one of the Mustangs was scraped due to liability concerns and the other was reported to be kept in non driving condition in a barn in the Ohio River Valley somewhere by an anonymous owner. Both cars were supposedly on loan from Ford Motor co. The surviver changed hands several times and Steve McQueen at one point tried unsuccessfully to buy it.
The Dodge Chargers,(2), were bought outright by Warner Brothers from a Ca. dealer. Haven't found out if one of those survived or not.
A replica of the 68 Mustang is owned by McQueens son Chad who also owns the first two of 5,000 Mustang Bullitts produced by Ford in 2001.

Does anyone remember the 1940's Batman serial at the movies? I am trying to figure out what the car was that he had in that series.
It is a huge convertible "sedan". Probably around a 1938.

I might be wrong and more than likely so, but I think that car was a drawing put into action by the flip card method that was once used in making cartoon films. I think the first actual car was a converted 1940 Ford sedan. I don't know who built it. Famed custom car builder George Barris built some of the cars in the 60s and maybe into the 70s, I'm not sure.

The car is real. Not a 1940 Ford for sure. It is earlier than that and MUCH bigger.
