I started working on reassembling the front end suspension of the car. Not without some disassembly though. Took out the old steering rack. That's a pain in the behind! The steering column didn't have to be taken loose for taking the rack out, but it had to come loose going back in. Got the pinch bolt stuck and wound up having to cut it off and punching out. That took up a lot of time, but finally got the new rack installed and looks great compared to the old ratty overspray one.

Also installed the new rubber bump stops on either side. I might get brave enough to reinstall the shocks tonight....or not. Pretty wiped out working in the garage in 95 degree heat for six hours. I think I've gone through a gallon of Gatorade!

Not a lot of fun when it is so darn hot but you made good progress.

I wish I'd made more progress than I did. If it hadn't of been for the blasted pinch bolt fiasco I would've had most parts back on the car. But you're right Jack. Putting that steering rack in has been something I've wanted done for a long time. Left shock is on. Tomorrow I'll see if I can get the right one put on, and then start working on the A arms. I wound up getting replacement arms, and they came with the grease zerk fitted like you mentioned so there'll be a front and back zerk to grease the fulcrum pin right.

Right. lol

I'm going to try waterproof Green Grease when putting this all back together. I've heard positive things about it. I know I should grease the fulcrum pin during assembly, but what about the metal sleeves in the A arm bushes?

Just a bit of oil on the a arm bushings, the metal part to facilate instalation.
