Let me me the first to tell you.

I bow to Ben, that is a lovely car.

Guys, I wish I could tell you more about awards, but I can't, my involement in this event starts early Friday at the Marriott, then begins early Saturday morning by parking the show line, by lunch I'm done with my work for Euro, then I usually spent a hour or so looking over the rest of the show field (the sections I didn't park) then I'm done and normally spend the rest of my day over at the BMW perfomance driving the heck out of thier cars. When I returned to the show field, I just got lucky to hear Ben's name over the loud speaker being announced, I wasn't even in the awards area, just heard it.

I have to admit, I'm not really a show car kinda guy, Euro is the only car show I normally get invloved with, and the only car show I ever even entered any of my cars in. I don't even normally attend the banquet, because by the time that rolls around, I'm exhausted from the last two days, and quaitly sneak off and head for the house /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif I'm sure Ben you can go to the website https://www.euroautofestival.com and there are email contacts there and get the answer you're looking for.

The only award I've ever won at Euro was a coperate award a few years back for the Huffaker MGB race car, that's a funny story within itself. I was told I needed to attend the banquet, I normally don't. I told some of the Euro folks, that I had to load the race car back on the trailer and din't want to go home get changed then came all the way back to Spartanburg for the banquet. They resopnded by telling me thay had free tickets for me and reserved seating, being the idiot I am, it still didn't click, I told them thank you, but I'm tired and would rather go home. Finally the surprise has to be ruined because of my stubborness, they said, you knucklehead you won one of the five corperate awards, the most coveted awards of the show, and that's why we want you to attend the banquet. I then felt like a complete donkey /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif and went home got dressed up and went to the banquet /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I love the cars, I love the people that own the cars, but personally have never got into the show hobby, I fiquire with racing I need to be very careful of how many hobbies I take on. I think I could sucked into the show hobby easily, and I'm trying my best to resist as my plate is already pretty full.

I think one of the reasons the British show line looked smaller this year is because the Austin Healeys as the feature mark were separated from the rest of the British car field, in actuality, we broke all entry records and for the first time sold the show car field out, it was rumored that nearly 60 cars were turned away. My line inclueded, MG, Triumph, Mini (old and new) Morgans, Morris, Sunbeam, and other British marks beside Austin Healey, but not including Jag and Rolls I never counted the cars in my section, but it had to be atleast 100 cars, if you add AH, Jag, Rolls and Bentleys to that count the percentage of British cars, was nearly 50% of the show, or 250 give or take British cars.

Ben, congratulations!

Sorry I missed the Euro this year, it's always a great show! This is the second year I've been away at the appointed time; the Shenandoah valley was beautiful...but I sure did miss the show.

I can't say for sure what the current protocol is, but two years ago the plaques were mailed out a couple weeks after the show. This was done because the names were applied to the plaques. Here's what they looked like then; I assume yours will be similar:

Congrats again!
