Well just got from Euro, my day started out there at about 7:00 am, after working the hospitality suite until 11:30 last night. Today, I parked all the MGs, Triumphs, Minis, Sunbeams, Morgans, Morris, and other British. I'd say a good 100 cars in my line. As I was starting to leave I heard them announce the winner of the Bugeye Sprite class, and heard Ben Willis' named called out, so let me be the first here to congratulate you on your victory, and fine looking Bugeye, job well done! Now that your car is done, I'll be looking for you at the next FBCC meeting /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Just a guess, but I think we had about 450-500 cars today, sold out the show field for the first time ever.
 
The show had a great turnout this year. I heard that they turned away about 60 cars because they had no more room!

I was VERY surprised to win first place in the class. There were 13 other sprites there and some VERY nice examples. I think I got lucky.

Hap: I looked for you several times especially after finding your card in my seat. I got close once but you were deep in conversation. I'm sure I'll see you at a FBCC meeting.
 
Ben, yep sorry I missed you as well, looked at your car and drooled though /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Chris Gage found me but about the time he did I got swamped by some other people, I felt bad later I didn't get moore time to shoot the breeze with Chris, sorry Chris.

Ben, I'm going to be the president of the FBCC next year, and I got alot of fun stuff up my sleeve for the club next year, plenty of group driving activities and tech sessions, I'm going to try my very best to make it a fun year for all the members. We've got plenty of Spridget guys in the club, so you'll be in very company.

Oh, and good choice on paint color, your car looks great in that color.
 
I rode down there. I didn't stay that long. I saw 3 midgets, two rubber bumpered and one 74 rwa. Lots of nice cars there. Lots of beautiful big Healeys and sprites. I did more walking and standing than i should have and left before any awards or anything. I should have brought me a chair. How come they put those wrist bands on everyone? I need to get out more and get to know some more people that have LBCs. I'm a pretty nervous and shy person when I first meet someone and I have a hard time with putting names to faces, much less to cars. I recognized some cars from pics here, but wasn't sure who they belong to. Maybe I can have my own car ready for next time adn then I might fit in better.
 
Bah, put a name tag on just jump in.

Almost all LBC folks are good people.

And here is an idea, at a show put your LBCF name on your hat or car or something.
 
That's a good idea Jack, most of us here would jump right in if we saw a "familiar nametag".
 
I suggest BCF T-shirts at such events then we can just pick each other out of the crowd and say "hi" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif (maybe make a game of "how long did it take me to figure out who you are" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif )while at the same time boosting Basils membership with newbies!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Having now seen Ben's car close up. I can tell everyone that it is VERY NICE INDEED, and the win was well-deserved, and that is saying something because there were some very nice bugeyes present. And his forward-tilting bonnet is pretty cool as well.

Actually seeing Ben's car may inspire me to start doing some more work on the appearance side, NCBugeye is currently a 20 footer.

I recognized that tag on your car but I did not know who you were. Looks like most of your paint problems are below the radius on the sills. I'm sure this can be fixed and not be too expensive. It just looked like chips and stuff and not real rust through holes or anything and the A pillars looked in good shape. I saw some others giving the tell tale sign of rust through on the A pillars, which would be more extensive work. Still you got a nice car and that was a long drive you made in it.

If I remember correctly on the entry form it said that the actual plaques would be mailed later. I guess it makes it easier to just give out ribbons at the show. Who knows they may even personalize the trophy which would make it much nicer. BTW, who won 2nd & 3rd. My guess would be the original MkIII and the restored MkIV? Although I would not be surprised if it was the other Iris blue BE that got center stage with the big Healeys.
