I HATE musicals. I can't over emphasise that enough! I'm a man and men don't like musicals.

TELL ME.... what's going on...don't sing me a song...

That being said, I loved Les Miserables! While I was forced to learn some of the songs in college, I never knew the story line. The pastor's kid preached on it this morning so I figured I'd give Kelly a treat. She loves the movies, especially musicals so I figured how bad could it be. I figured the theater was close enough to Academy Sports I could slip out if the 2.5 hour torture session proved to be too much.

I gotta say, it was VERY well done. Now we're talking about hitting the local theater to see what's being offered....ya know....fer the wife....

I recently took the wife to see "The Lion King". I know it sounds like it's for little kids, but it was an unbelievable production! My sister went to see it on Broadway! I'd love to see les Miserables - and will some day!

Proud of you for branching out -- and yes, men can like musicals. Of course I'm a musician so I'm not exactly normal. When they're written well and done well they're quite enjoyable.

Here's a shocker, I love the symphony. I even have some symphonic Pink Floyd....somewhere...

The Broadway stage version of Les Mis. (that travels) is very good as well... with several AMAZING scenes (the barricade and the jump from the bridge). As I recall, the audience applauded the barricade set!

The one I can't STAND is "Mama Mia." Been forced to go twice (once in London, which was impressive) and again locally (a crashing bore). Never was much of an ABBA fan.

You realize you just opened yourself up don't ya? LOL :cool-new:
I am what I am, can't help that. Musicians are used to the jokes...

I thought about it. I already took a pot shot at Don earlier today. Once is a nuff. Maybe tomorrow, be on your guard.

Head for cover tomorrow...Greg is on the loose and hungary

And I saw Les Mis today

I read the book, don't need to see it with songs. I do like seven brides for seven brothers though, and the sound of music.

I thought that was you! Why didn;t you turn around? I hit you at least 10 times with popcorn!

Oh my goodness! I havn't laughed that hard in I don't know how long. I about died!

Thanks Boink.

Funny thing is, I was coming back to ask if anyone realized that was Borat. I thought that was him and was floored when I looked it up last night. I figured they wouldn't have cast him in such an epic classic....then I thought about it. He is a bad imposter playing a bad imposter...not a far stretch and a no-brainer.

I knew there was something that bothered me about his perfoarmance and now I know why. If that parts was played too well the bad imposter-imposter would'a been lost.

"Borat" (Sacha Baron Cohen?) did a wonderful job in the movie "Hugo." [no relation to Victor H. in this thread, but a fine movie about a boy in Paris]

I was shocked it was really him. All i can see when I think of him is the scene with the naked fat guy sitting on his face.

Master of the house..

song stuck-in'side-his-'ead

Freakin'-tune willbe in-there-until-he's-dead,

Creepin' in his brain

Hopein' it'd refrain

Take'a bot'le of that-gin and wash'it down-the-drain

He really should'n't 've seen-that-mo'vie....

NOW HE'S GON"NA GO IN'SA'ANE......:wall:
