I was driving along the freeway a couple weeks ago and saw a huge... thing.... driving the other way. I don't know how better to describe it. The driver was obvious though. Today I found a photo on the web that someone else took the same day. Here it is!

If it was on January 28th (judging by the wet roads and his passenger Bernard- his mechanic- it looks like it was), He was on his way to Supercar Sunday in Woodland Hills. I was there when he showed up with it.
Very neat, there is so many cool details. He said it takes 80 quarts of oil! He took out the dipstick and said, "oh look it's a gallon low!" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

What a neat guy. A gear head with a good sense of humor. I'd love to see that thing wheelin down the road here! I about flipped a few years back. Some guy at Watkins had THE Tomahawk motorcycle (you know, the one with the viper V12) and was doing burnouts with it! it was incredible I thought I had a pic, but I'll have to get it uploaded... gimmie a few...

He was definitely on his way there when I saw him on the freeway. unfortunately I was going to work. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

ROFL!!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I got the photo from someone's web gallery of photos from the event. Sorry I missed you that day, maybe we will get to meet again at one of these events!

Definitely. I hope to have the engine back in the Elan in the next month or so and I will be back in business.

Want to plan a drive up to Ojai or something as well

My sister lives in Less Angley and has seen Leno quite a few times running around in various cars. She likes to tease me about that, for some reason.

Yeah, among warehouses full of other stuff!! I love the guy for his approach to car collecting! And by all accounts, he is a real regular guy too!

I saw that, was in some garage for like 30 years all covered up with junk.

If that's the car I'm thinking of, it was in a person's garage only a couple miles from where I worked at the time. I probably drove by it dozens of times. If only I knew... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Wouldn't have done you one bit of good to knew Steve , Cuz the little old lady that owned it knew what it was wurf too.---Keoke- /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yesnod.gif--------------- /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Wow! Incredible car... I really envy you SoCal guys at times like that, I never get to see neat stuff like that... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

I remember him (Leno) commenting that this in not just something you show up with a bag of twenties and say give me the car.

I wonder if that doozie is still trapped in that Garage with the small elevator?

Yes it is. I was just reading about it in a year old Octane magazine. According to that article, they have no intentions of selling either.
