24 Heures du Mans 2012 - this weekend on SpeedTV.

https://www.lemans.org/en/

Also, check out Radio LeMans (I'll have streaming from this on in the background)

https://www.radiolemans.com/

The Delta Wing Nissan will be real interesting; nothing like it endurance racing ever.
Two of the Audis are hybrids as is the Toyota.
Aston-Martin, Lola and Lotus are back along with the Morgan-Judd....lots of Brits to cheer for.
And the Corvettes and Ferraris will deal with an army of Porsches (as usual).
Henri Pescarolo's team will be the local favourite but everyone will be watching the Delta Wing.

Should be a fun race -- I'll be out of the house most of the day and will miss the live coverage, but will at least be following via the live scoring feeds.

I look forward to this every year. I try to watch as much as possible. My family knows that during this 24 hour period, it's hands off...my time is totally accounted for!

What SpeedTV doesn't show on TV, they will be streaming on the internet. I have the computer hooked up to the TV, so I can just switch it over.

Too bad about Peugeot pulling out as they seemed to be the only competition that Audi has had in recent years winning once in 2009. Since its Toyota's first try since the '80s, I don't expect them to beat the Audi juggernaut.

Should be a good race. :driving:

I may try to catch some of it this year. Must admit, though, I lost interest a while back (actually, a long while back!).

Oh, by the way, for those of you who have not yet seen the Nissan Delta Wing...it's in the LMP2 class, so it won't really be competing with the Audis and Toyotas.

It's lookin like a real good race this year. Wish I got Speed channel.

Audi leading and Toyota Hybrid is in 2nd.

Another Toyota Hybrid was just destroyed by a bone-head move by a Ferrari privateer at the end of the Mulsanne.

Very scary video.....the Toyota flew over the Ferrari and they both hit the Armco VERY hard. It'll take 30 minutes to fix the barrier (yellow flag right now....they'll never get the 400 lap record they had hoped for this year).

Two Lolas in 5th and 6th.

Morgan-Nissan and Morgan-Judd are in 9th and 10 place so far. I just saw two Astons in the pit (brakes on one).

The Delta-Wing Nissan (which is not officially being scored) is hammering away nicely with its Batmobile body and its super-turbo 1.4 liter engine. So far.

Less than three hours to go.

Alternate stream (with some commercials)---> https://49nascar499.blogspot.com/

Audi has steamroller effort but one Audi (#3) just went off, so Lola has a slightly better chance at the podium.

1st Toytoa out due to boneheaded Ferrari move earlier in the race.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdGuOwEpZ6M

Stupid move by equally boneheaded second Toyota driver (Nakajima) takes out the tiny 1.4 liter experimental (non-classed) Delta Wing/Nissan entered by Gurney.

Audi is first 3 places (but they've had two crashes in the last lap).

Then a Lola/Toyota in 4th
5th is an Audi that just crashed.
6 and 7 are HPD-ARX/Hondas
8,9 and 10 are Oreca/Nissans
The Aston-Martin is in 20th

Porsche 997/911 and Corvette were having a great race in GT, but looks like Porsche is pulling away right now.

That was simply ignorant!

I am amazed that the number 2 and 3 Audis suffered major impacts and yet were back ON the track in under 10 minutes.....AND competitive! AMAZING!!

When Nakajima was a mid-field to back marker driver in F1 (a role reversal to his drive here at LeMans) , he showed the same obliviousness to others as he showed to the Delta Wing.

The Audi pilots won this one (same guys won last year)
Porsche in GTE-am got a flat on the last lap. So Corvette wins that class.
McNish sort of threw away his lead (with crash) and ended second in Audi for LMP1....he's obviously not happy.
Starworks USA team form Fla won LMP2 and they are extatic.
AF Corsa Ferrari wins GTE-pro class. Aston got 3rd.

Pedro Lamy's Corvette drew down on that Porsche for the lead laps before the Porsche flatted. Pedro (as always) was fast.
