Could I get a pattern for a tonneau there? I know what I want the jack to look like, with the horizontal stripe running the length so I can hide the zipper in the edge of it. I think it will look cool against my white 77.

Buy an old ratty used one, and disassemble it - viola a patern!

But make sure it hasn't shrunk first

That's what I was thinking, but in a lot of cases I would have to figure in for sun shrinkage. Which might get tricky. I may just go all McGuyver on it with a tape measure and guesstimates.

I need to get quicker on the fingers. I was thinking that if I did the measurements, I would knock it out in a cheap muslin first, which would not only give me an "affordable" way to test my measurements, but I would have a semi-accurate pattern from then on.

The Boot cover I got from you was a little shrunk, but it stretched into place. But, it's got alot less material then a whole Tonneau.

The general pattern will be ther, but you might have to add a little bit to it based on your measurements.

I've got a couple that need zippers if you want to try one as a pattern

Matt....just email me with particulars....I'll let you know what the FEDEX is...you can return it when you're finished

the other location for a 3rd brake light would depend on how the rear anchor points for the top are attached. I was thinking pull the anchors, create the third light to fit between and under them and taper the ends out part the anchors. This way it's nearly invisible while not lit up and all but the lense of the light is covered by the top, tonneau, or boot cover. However, this idea would only work if the anchors are held in place with screws... I haven't looked too far into doing it just yet, because I've had other things occupying my time.

I was thinking the MG logo on the trunk would make a great 3rd light. I know it's not quite facing the right way, but since the MG is so low and most modern cars are pretty tall the driver behind you would be looking down on the trunk anyway.

A red lens behind the logo would be excellent.

oo... that's a fancy idea...

Or you could make it swing up and light when you press the brakes. Kinda like the stop signs that swing out from school busses.

Hmmmmmm a little red MG octogon? hey...this is the kind of idea that has potential! Run with it!!!
