I purchased LED's for instrument lights, installed one on the turn signal indicator light and it flashes when going left but not when turning right but the lights on the front and rear will flash just not the instrument bulb in the spedo. I know LED only work with electrons flowing in one direction. I reviewed the wiring and it looks like either way left or right, it should always send current the same direction through the bulb, any one have any Ideas or solution besides putting std bulb back in

Hondo, I don't know if this help or not.
I had to replace my dash on the 69TR6
and I installed both a right and a left
LED turn signal light in the dash.
Both function very well. Stock turn signal
switch on the column.

I spliced a lead from each signal wire
to the seperate LED and grounded each LED
back to the engine block.

Andy's correct that if you're using LEDs in the lamp housings (on the car body) you need a different flasher to work with the reduced current draw of the LEDs. However, the indicator on the dash should not be part of this equation.

Out of curiosity did you try putting the incandescent bulb back into the circuit in place of the LED just to confirm you only have problems with the LED?

that is good to have lots of resources in here over the years. nice inputs! this will really help me with my led turn signal light problem. i just hope it's only a bulb problem. i dont want wiring problems. wiring problems are head ache. i just figured out a trusted site for auto parts. check it out guys. cheers.

You can get the electronic flasher at the NAPA auto parts store. I bought one when I thought mine was bad but later found out I had a loose connection.

When I get to the stage of doing the body on my 3A, I will be getting a whole new wiring loom made up. One of my thoughts were to swap the stop/tail/turn indictor lights for L.E.D's. So I assume this is possible then?
