LED mirror dilemma

I did a quick AI search:
As an aside, we always have to be careful about what AI tells us. Case in point: I recently asked AI what kind of car was in the car washing scene with Joy Harmon in the movie Cool Hand Luke. (I already knew it was a 1940-something DeSoto). The first answer I got was AI told me it was a "1957 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible, finished in gleaming white." I told the AI bot, "not even close, try again." This time, the AI told me:

"Youโ€™re right โ€” letโ€™s pin this down properly.

The car that โ€œThe Girlโ€ (Joy Harmon) washes in Cool Hand Luke isnโ€™t a โ€™57 Ford. Itโ€™s actually a 1959 Buick LeSabre 2-door hardtop, finished in white.:"

At this point, I said to the AI: "Wow, I thought AI was supposed to be smart. Try again."

Finally, on the third try, the AI bot told the it was a 1941 DeSoto.

Conclusion - These AI chat bots are far from perfect.

I might experiment with one of th mirrors and see if I can pry off the back without damaging it, then glue it back in place after the new cord is installed.
Forget about being nice. You'll wind up in the same place but a lot quicker. Gluing the back on only hides what will never be seen.

Re: post 23:
Yeah, but '41?
Bob
Well, to be fair, I knew it was a 1940-something Desoto (see post 21 ) but wasn't certain it was exactly 1941. As it happens, when I was a kid growing up in West Virginia, the lady across the street from us, Mrs Miller, rented half of our garage to park her 1940-something DeSoto.

Back on topic:

Have your electrician look into a box extender. If the stud depth will allow your box to be moved back, see if he can do that and then extend the box out to the face of the drywall and mount a standard receptacle to the inner box if possible, ditching the fancy all in one face plate that no one will ever see.

Or โ€ฆ just call the electrician in and have him figure out a solution for you. Thatโ€™s why heโ€™s getting the big bucks.

That would certainly need to be considered (I'd need to look inside to see what, if anything, is in the way if I used a step drill). Yes, it is a stupid design. We only bought them because they were on a clearance sell for 1/2 price.
Maybe that's why they were 1/2 price.

Couldn't agree more about the AI. Might be worth buying an electrician a cup of coffee.
