No matter how many times you fill a high spot it will still be high. Of course, there is a corollary for low spots.
 
cut it twice and it's still too short
 
Always take the old part to the store. Otherwise, they'll always give you the wrong one. Ditto for those spotlight bulbs you eyeballed at home and tried to match in the store. Ditto for bolts and nuts.
 
Fortunately, our owner knows just about everything there is to know about the Model A. He has been through this before with this car.
