Learn to cook, or buy another car!

That's what my lovely wife told me. So, I bought another Healey to restore. It's a 1963 BJ7 in need of a full restoration. But, this time it's in much better condition, even runs. I havn't ordered the Heritage certificate yet but of interest is that this car has the safety gauge water temp measured in Celsius, and the speedometer in Kilometer's. So of course this means it was an export fitted car. What other changes might I expect to find? Just click above this post for an attached photo.

What about the headlights, are those european type, where you can change the lightbulbs, or are they american; seald beams ? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Thanks Karl for responding. There the American sealed beam type. I'm sure they have been replaced over the years. Were about to begin our long winter here in St. Louis and I have the car under wraps. Soon, I hope to begin restoration.

I think it was a smart time to buy the new Healey resto just before christmas, because it would be difficult to learn how to cook at christmas time. To much food to cook, and to much advanced food to cook.

Looks like a fun project you have there......learning to cook isn't such a bad thing either, as you are able to influence the menu that way.

One minor difference that you might find is the colours of the indicator lenses, as each market seemed to have its own regulations. Depends where it was originally intended for. It'll be interesting to find out what the Heritage Certificate has to say.

Of interest is what the PO tried to accomplish with this car. He wanted to have a radio mounted, but wanted to keep as original as possible. He took a console out of a BJ8 had a center arm rest made to fit. It really doesn't look to bad. Although he might have glued the trim on a little better.
