I've got a leak in one of my rear hubs, so I'm assuming I'm looking for something like this:

(the kit includes 3, 35, 36, 37, 38)
I'd probably get extra 35 and 37 just in case.

This looks like it's got the necessary gaskets and bits to renew the hubs. Not that I know how to do that, but there's not time like the present. I'm putting a big order in for Tony tomorrow
 
I've got a local guy who should be able to make one up for me, I hope. I'll run those drawings I made by you again, and make sure I've got the measurements right.
 
I just went through this. I used a simple hub puller from Harbor Freight and (get ready....) bought a set of 3/4" drive sockets for that huge nut that holds the hub on. I found the other sockets useful for all kinds of things too, and, given that the HF set wasn't terribly expensive, it all was worthwhile. Unless the bearings are loose or otherwise questionable, I don't think you need the whole kit--just the seals, which are a lot cheaper. Also, buying one or two extra seals isn't a bad idea--it's not difficult to mash a seal while installing it, and it's good to have a spare. Also, if you have extras, you'll probably use them someday. (I know, confidence!)

You will need to have something to cover the hole in the axle housing when you pull the hub--a circular piece of any kind of metal will do, as long as it's the right size.

Not really a difficult job--the only slightly difficult part is working with all those press-fit bearings.

I've got the socket already, from when I stripped the Midget out this past winter. I'll have plenty of questions once I get ready to tackle this job. I know how to pull the hub out, but really don't have much of an idea of how to put it back together.

I decided to go with the kit, since I don't know the condition of the bearings. I'm also going to get a few extra seals/o-rings/gaskets, just in case. In the context of the larger order I'm making for Tony, this is just a small percent of the cost, so I'd rather err on the side of caution and have a few spares on hand.
 
Yup, I have spare manifold gaskets, rocker cover gaskets, etc. They would be very handy if I could find them when I need them, but instead I only see them when they are in my way as I look for other stuff.
