Do all the Healey models, BN1-BJ8 specify the laygear end float to be 0.012?
The two manuals I have don't reference which models.
The green Austin Healey 100/6 and 3000 workshop manual, General Data page 15 states:
Layshaft bearing, End float .012 in (.30mm.)
The Haynes Austin Healey 100/6 & 3000 manual, page 102, gearbox and Overdrive states:
Layshaft bearing , Endfloat 0.021 in (0.30 mm). I'm assuming 0.021 is a misprint, should be 0.012
How important is the accuracy of end float?
Is + or - a few thousand of 0.012 ok?
How or what does end float affect in the transmission?
