dearest daughter starts her summer job on Monday. She doesn't know the city well so we did a trial run on public transit today. Coming home, two guys sitting at the front of the bus talking loudly. As I (and everyone else who wanted to) listened I realized they were both going to check into the jail for the weekend. Serving minor sentences (one was breach of probation) on weekends. The jail is on the bus route and sure enough, once they figured out their stop they headed for the doors, one fretting a little that he was late. Hilarious.

Oh and judging by the other fellows case of the munchies, I can take a stab both at what he was there for and how he was dealing with the isolation.

Had a buddy of mine that had to do that after a DWI. You don't want to be a no-show or things get bad. I'm sure they much preferred the weekends as opposed to full time. He didn't much mind doing his weekends. there was a regular crew in there. It was like a club.A crappy club, but still.
