After a two year lapse from theatre shows the local high school is going to perform Grease in February.
My 15 year old will be Rizzo I have offered to build Grease Lightning, This will be the red version of the car,
When finnished i will make papermache wings and door skins that will clip on and become the white car,
The rear fins will be split and hinged so they fold down inside the back,
The whole thing is split down the middle and hinged at the front, this way it will go flat against the back of the stage
only taking up less than two feet and can be hidden with a back drop,
Please be aware i have had to scale it down making it shorter back and front but still leave enough room for two occupants
in the cockpit. Any suggestions welcome. :D

good on you - a great project! I presume it will give you thrills that are multiplying.

Thats Chills JP not thrills LOL, But Yea. the daughter is mad for it, all she is interested in is musical theatre.
Oops and wonderful!

After a few weeks of frosty weather. I manage to get the building done. Then some paint.
Trundled it round to the school in two halves and joined it together on the stage.
Just the wheels to make and paint. Hubcaps from plastic plates covered in tin foil will be made next

That is super cool! I love projects like that. My only suggestion would be to paint the casters black.

Just hang a black felt "skirt" around the sides.

The stage is not that big. They will be wondering how the heck they get it on and off the stage.
When opened up it will be hidden by a back drop then used as a table for the dance off.
