I have the HVDA conversion. Running a W58.
Box is recon, but bought 11mo ago (though with maybe 10 miles on it now) so I have zero chance of getting any warranty on it. Its leaking from the rear seal. Anyone know how hard a fix this is?
Any Toyota mechanics here?

There's always something. I'm cursed I swear.

Easy fix from under the car. If you can find a lift, better still.

First make sure that it's not over filled. I think they only take 1-1/2 qts. I'm using Valvoline full synthetic in mine> Even though Herman says no to synthetic in this tranny, the dealer says that's all they use, no dino oil.

1) drop the driveshaft.
2) pull off the hvda rear yoke adapter.
3) pry out the old seal.
4) tap in the new seal.
5) Use only new locknuts to bolt the driveshaft back up. Nyloc is OK but metal is better. SIze is 3/8"-24, you'll need 8.
My Toyota dealer doesn't stock the seal so I picked one up from NAPA when I changed mine.
