Latest '63 Midget Update

Front suspension is in - steering box goes in next & front end is ready to set down on wheels....engine compartment is ready for engine; behind grille is finished & ready to be buttoned up; body is finished except for side trim & bumpers; gas tank is in along with all plumbing.

So, its just the rear end, engine/tranny, windshield, dash & interior to go!

Here are a few photos (just to make grown men cry):

Re: '63 Midget Update

Looks nice. But who shrunk your washer bottle? And... is that plastic hose coming off the fan towards the heater box?

Yep, its plastic but its going away now that Jack has turned me on to Ed's OE style hose which hopefully will arrive shortly...you want it?

& that's the same size washer bottle that was in it before I started the restoration...do I need another size?

Re: '63 Midget Update

I thought the ones that mounted up front were bigger and they didn't switch to the smaller size water bottle until they moved it up by the firewall.

Re: '63 Midget Update

Nope, I've got one of those plastic ones on the midget. Easy to clean but doesn't look right or fit very well.

Re: '63 Midget Update

BTW, if you want a larger bottle that doesn't cost quite as much as the Moss version then look for a place that sells chemistry lab equipment.

Re: '63 Midget Update

Man is that looking great. Now I feel bad about Miss Agatha.

They're referred to as "Nalgene Bottles".

Thanks, guys, I've got the labels to go on a larger bottle....will my cap, etc fit the one referenced?

Photo, zimmy?

Re: '63 Midget Update

Thanks, zimmy....that's the same one in my '74 RWA Midget - its also the small one that's in the holder in my '63....the '63's holder is just much larger.

Re: '63 Midget Update

Tony, you got wheels on the ground and engine and tranny in yet?

Re: '63 Midget Update

Everything's finished in the front - just need to bolt the wheels on up there.....started assembling rear end this afternoon before I had to stop to cut grass....got the bushings pressed into the radius arms - next is installing radius arm & shock brackets & hanging the rear end

Hope to get that finished tomorrow & have her sitting on all 4 wheels Sunday afternoon.

Re: '63 Midget Update

Be sure to put the spacers on the correct side of the radius arm. And when you find out the correct side... let me know. I'm not sure mine are correct.
