I am sure by now we have all heard the story of the truck that gets caught under the bridge - the engineers are stumped and the 7 year old girl tells them to let the air out of the tires.

This week I was visiting my brother and driving in Prince Edward County - In the county there is a Ferry - Glenora Ferry which is about a 10 minute ride. Unfortunately this year the water is so high on lake Ontario (more than a metre) that the ferry floated about a foot higher than the ramps to get on and off the ferry. What to do?

Simple. Park a cement truck right in the middle of the ferry to provide enough ballast to lower the boat to the level of the ramps. I just hope a 7 year old girl thought of it! Genius.

Interesting note on that link. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, it shows that you visited the page to view the story.
