I would appreciate it if someone could please tell me what type and size bolt goes on my TR3B starter. I've noticed that it is missing and would like to get one at the local hardware store. Does that bolt simply go into the transmission or do I also need a lock washer and nut. Thanks for your help. Art

You will need a nut and washer as well. A fine thread 7/16" bolt with 9/16" head x 3" long should do the trick if I'm remembering correctly, others will chime in if I am not correct.

Original bolt was 3/8NF, 2-1/8" long (HB0917), with a nut & spring (lock) washer. Grade 3 will do fine, but you can use Grade 5 if you prefer.

FWIW, I added a Helicoil to my transmission so the upper bolt does just thread into the flange, thereby eliminating that dang nut. You'll see why when you try to put it in
