Had a great time Pocono last weekend.

ChrisS, Bruce and Pete brought their respective Brit-cars (below).

Our old pal, Mike F. brought his "Toylet", with a 4AG motor. This was the first outing of this car (it was the pace car on Saturday and he was planning on running the TT on Sunday.

Speaking of first times out, the Twin-Cam Escort ran nicely for the first time. Had a little shredding belt problem and minor fuel starving in right handers, but it seemly basically OK. I'll dial in more negative camber in the front wheels for Lime Rock. It made it to 7200 RPM on the main straight in 4th gear. I guess I better replace that original timing belt (123,000 miles) soon.

And our LeMans start worked out nicely (though I missed the enduro due to the belt problem)

One of our flaggers showed us this quilt she made from race track memorabelia

On Sunday I went to a club pig roast (I picked up the pig on Friday...below). No trophies but a great weekend overall.

Anyway, since I had the time, I taped the LeMans Start that EMRA uses (it's "modified"...drivers stay in car and we use "runners"). Here it is:

I like the start -- neat way to get the feel of the old start without the buckling in hassles of modern safety gear.

Howdy Nial;

I was standing just behind all the runners with my BCF Tee Shirt on; somewhere in the middle of them:

Great Start but what happened to the Blk Porsche?

When is the next Pocono event?

Hi Russ:

The dark green Porsche in the video misfired and wouldn't start. The driver (who was not the owner) was unfamilar with what to do so it took a few seconds to get it going. They ended up doing well (2nd OA I think).

If you're behind the runners you may even be able to spot yourself in the video.

EMRA has had four events at Pocono in '07 and this was the last one. We will be at Lime Rock, Watkins Glen and Summit Point to conclude our '07 season.

I'll be working on the EMRA '08 schedule soon and it should be posted around Feb '08 on our EMRA website. ( https://www.emraracing.org )
