Last I drove it, the OD worked in the AM. I swapped the rear and then about 5-6 hours later, no OD all the way home. That was on 2/23/08. This morning I decided to take it to work. OD went on but after about 30 seconds, it started to go in & out of OD. Does this sound electrical and if so which part of the OD should I be looking at. This description will hopefully pinpoint the problem.

Check ground to solenoid. Check connections and wires for breaks.

Not a bad thought. Right after I posted this, I jumped in the MG to head home. No OD. Really strange.

When my OD was acting up, it turned out to be the 3/4th gear lockout switch. A mechanic told me one way to check is while driving in 4th (w/ O/D On) push the gear shift lever away from you (toward the passenger side of the car). Don't hold it there very long. It's just a quick method to pick up on a misadjusted switch. If the switch were totally dead, this approach won't help.

Nice tip. I took it out again this morning and it was acting up again. Went right into OD but then started going in & out I'll have to try this later.
