There was a article about her in the WSJ yesterday.
her doctor attributes her long life to home care by loving relatives rather than institution "assisted living".
(but I think she had two siblings that made it past 100 also.)
 
A colleague was visiting a parishioner who had just turned 100. He asked him, "How does it feel to be 100?" The fellow answered "It is a lot shorter looking back at it than it was looking ahead at it."

Never forgot that
 
Our pastor told us his Aunt & Uncle recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.
He asked his Uncle if their was a secret to such a long & happy marriage.

his Uncle replied......"yes dear"

Surprisingly enough there is actually one person still receiving a civil war pension!
Apparently she was a late life child of a veteran and was the only survivor so the pension went to the child and is still getting it.
