It's 3 hours south of here so I don't have a huge amount of experience. I used to stay there when I was doing GPS testing at nearby What Sands Missile Range and, from what little experience I had from staying in hotels there, it seemed like a decent town in a scenic part of the state.
I have a good friend, Cecil, who moved there when he retired from SAIC and he seems to like it. Due to White Sands being near it has a pretty good military and Defense contractor presence, not that that means much.
