Nice to know we live in the suburbs.

That is a great video. The mind boggles.

We're circlin' th' drain, kids.

They will soon tell us the Great Attractor turns out to be a "contact patch" with another 'brane (membrane, another of the eleven theorized dimensions), time and space are cosmically instant and our perception of "time" is just that.

We're just bugs on a windshield, universally speaking.

Bumper sticker I saw years ago that gave me a chuckle: "Jesus is coming - look busy!"

Well, unless we figure out something that makes us go "oops, that wasn't supposed to happen" I don't worry about the end of the galaxy. Not only will I be long since dust, but even the family as a whole will probably be long since forgotten if there's even anyone left to remember earth's past.

Remember the Twilight Zone episode "The Little People"? The Universe is made up of other Universes - ad infinitum.

You eliminate one smaller than you, but a bigger one stomps out yours.

If I might quote my friend D. Rumsfeld....

"...as we know, there are known knowns; there are things that we know that we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don't know we don't know."
