Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

Just a quick update for you!

* Do not under any circumstances allow your wife to have your credit cards while in Osage Beach for the event!! There is a gigantic Outlet all<https://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=57>(link!) within about a mile of the event headquarters hotel!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

* Be sure to have your room reserved at the Inn at Grand
Glaize<https://www.innatgrandglaize.com>(link!) by May 23rd in order to get the special room rate! Also be sure to
tell them you are with the "Spridgets" group or they will turn you away! We have the entire hotel and all its many facilities! This includes a car wash area and areas for trailer parking.

* A number of folks have reserved rooms at the hotel but have not yet paid their pre-registration fees. Putting an event of this scope together requires "up front" money. To date, some of that has had to come out of individual pockets since we had no treasury to operate from. The registration costs go to cover liability insurance, venue rentals, postage,
printing, and various administrative costs of putting on a first class event. Your special event T-shirts, window clings, etc also come out of that pot. We hope you will go to the Registration Page<https://www.Sprite-SpridgetClub.org/registration.html>(link) on the website and take care of this matter as soon as you can. Check
out the LIST <https://www.starrtech.net/~jimj/50th/who.html> (link) of people who have already paid their registration fees and have committeed to attend! We will be glad to refund to you up until 2 weeks before the event if some emergency comes up and you have to cancel. Just let us know via
email or phone call if you have difficulties and need help.

* We are proud to announce a beautiful, Limited Special Edition Cloisonne and Gold Plate Grille
Badge<https://www.starrtech.net/%7Ejimj/50th/grille_badge.pdf>(link)
for the event! There will most likely not be enough of these made to go to everyone so if you like them, order yours now and pick it up at the event. They are exclusively for attendees! See the artist's design HERE!<https://www.starrtech.net/~jimj/50th/50yearsspridgetlogo.JPG>

* We are looking for volunteers as helpers at the car show,
Funkhana/driving skills, and Autocross. Victims are sought for short stints at the registration table and in the hospitallity area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The more who volunteer, the less any one person will
need to do. If you can spare an hour or so at the event, let us know via email or phone. There will be sign-up sheets available at the registration
table.

* For your gastronomical delight, the three meal choices for the banquet are: FISH: Baked Northwest Salmon in Tarrogon Butter CHICKEN: Hand-Made Chicken Cordon Bleu PORK: Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Apple Brandy Sauce. Let us know if you have any special food needs either via email or phone.

Cheers!!

Re: Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

OK, I got the word from my wife today that she has the days free. So I'll be registering within the next few days. She has never ridden that far in a spridget (should be interesting to see if we are still married after the trip)

Re: Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

Outstanding Trevor, look forward to meeting you.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

Jack, I am having trouble getting that link to work for registration. I had forgotten my room res number at the gran glaize and I called the number and that lady was very quick I told her my name and the month and she was telling me the number before I finished. I think I am ready to commit with knee problems and all. Barring some serious problems I cam going to be there. I had not done my road testing yet, but I might trailer (I know, I know) the midget if all else fails if I can borrow a trailer. What are the minimum width and lenght of a trailer if I need one? I don't think it will fit on my 4X8 trailer. What about 5 X10?

Re: Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

Hey, I'm trailering...

Re: Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

What type trailer are you pulling with your midget?

Re: Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

Hahaha

Re: Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

A Bugeye is 11' 5 1/4" overall including bumpers.

It is 4' 5" Wide

Wheel base is 3' 9 3/4" center of wheel to center of wheel wide. and 6' 8" center of wheel to center of wheel long.

All Spridgets are the same wheel base.

So a 5X110 trailer should work just fine.

Give that registeration page another try, it should be working just fine. If you still have probs call Jim Johnson and he will fix you up on the phone. His number is on the site in several places. Super nice guy, has a Midget and lots of old old Bikes.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

No one has mentioned weight...that's certainly a limiting factor when it comes to trailers. I would want a trailer with a capacity AT LEAST half again more than the weight of the car...say 2500-3000 lbs. Yes, I tend to go to extremes...just look at my trailer...but when you're doing 60 down the road and have your pride and joy 10 feet behind you, you can't be too safe.

Ray - I'm looking for an enclosed trailer - what are the dimensions of yours?

It's an 8'x16' Pace American, Tony...they make them in South Georgia (Fitzgerald I believe). Mine was ordered through Trailer For less in Fayetteville, GA (south Atlanta). Oh, and I went ahead and had it built with the additional clearance wall height. Mine is fully insulated and aluminum skinned on the inside, so the height I ordered allows you to stand upright (as long as you're not over 6'4"). It also has a 36" beavertail that makes loading a breeze.

There's more photos and details at: https://www.raysmg.com/rays_mg_midget_car_hauler.htm

If you'd like pricing info I've got the build sheet filed.

Yep, I've lived in worse places. Like a hooch in Vietnam.

You had a hooch? Man, you Air Force guys were pampered!

Re: Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

Yep, my hooch had three walls, a door, a roof and an open side. It was 8X8, my small place I called home.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

OH YEAH!! That trailer's what I need to move my '53 TD & my '63 Midget!! Heck, I could even use it for permanent parking!!

Could you email me the pricing info?

Re: Lake of the Ozarks up-date.

Got it, thanks.
