Felix finally let up on the deluge rain and
some early morning fishing was possible. Smaller
fish today due to the muddy estuary waters.

Dinner tonight with friends at new Japanese sushi/
steakhouse.

What kinda day did everyone have?

The wife and I went for a long ride in the MGB including taking some photos over at the park. Weather here is perfect. Got a little work done. Measured the batteries in my MGB, Miata, and Protege 5. Talked to the neighbors. Leisurely, lazy day overall.

Nice fish there. Hope your sushi was shinsen.
 
That's gotta be pretty awesome Steve. Looks like a popular place for burnouts.
 
Spent my day with the Spider in the Miner's Day parade in Park City. Car made the 130 mile round trip at 70-75 mph without incident (jealous Tinster??). The kids get a big kick out of the car "winking" at them as the headlights go up and down.
 
I put a new PTO shaft in my Ford tractor. Easy job.

Then continued reassembly of my Ransome riding mower. It's been asleep for ten years...had to put a new transaxle on it...got it bolted together....would fire on starting fluid but nothing else....so now the carb and fuel pump are off for R&R.

Tomorrow I anticipate arrival of my new toy for the barn, an Eagle two-post lift.....arriving via semi. It's in Indianapolis today according to the website.
 
Went to Scottsboro to their 1st Monday antique sale - loaded an old GT I'm stripping on my trailer to take hulk to scrapyard - cut grass - ate some watermelon - watching an old John Wayne movie
 
Hey Rich,

Back in July I drove 24 miles at speeds sometimes in
excess of 30 mph and made it home without the dreaded
flatbed. My last major attempt at a drive was in May.
I made it 26 miles before breakdown.

I am hoping to have the front suspension rebuild
completed by the end of next weekend. The engine runs
marginally now, so my next major goal is a 50 mile drive
without breakdown. "To explore where my TR has never gone
before!"

Dale...I just had to jump in. I've been following the misadventures of you and Crypty/Amos. I really hope that someday in the near future you two sign a truce and have a fun, non-breakdown drive around the perimeter of PR.
 
We took the Midget over to the Westfield car show, and saw a good turnout of British cars. A couple of MGBs, an MG Y-type, an MG-TC, two Jaguar XK-150s, an MGB-GT (which the wife thinks looks like an AMC Gremlin :eek:), a Jaguar XKE 2+2 (very nice!), a few Mini Coopers, and a Mini Moke. Even a couple of Nash Metropolitans showed up, making my Midget look big. I got some ribbing from the El Camino owner I parked next to for bringing a British car to the "All American car show". Funny, then why is your "All American" car called an "El Camino" instead of "The Street"? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer.gif I did a double take when a Chevrolet Vega Kammback wagon parked on the other side of me, I had some trouble identifying it when it pulled up. I think I can understand why John DeLorean commented on the Vega's engine looking like it came off a 1920 farm tractor. The Midget's engine looks downright sophisticated in comparison. Probably much easier to work on without all the emission control gizmos attached to it though.

We both liked the '38 Studebaker President that showed up. Kind of a rare beast, the owner says only 4000 were made. Very nice inside with the suicide doors and plush upholstery.
 
tinster,it was a beautiful sunny day i took our new infinity for a shake down cruise with my wife and her sister ended up in mystic seaport did the tour always interesting then dinner at a great restaurant on the water sat at a window table watching an old draw bridge operate for local boat traffic then we went to foxwoods casino none of us gamble but it was a hoot the place was packed couldnt get near any game tables but played the slots and had a ball total losses for the three of us less then $100.00 my sister in law who had never seen a slot machine before worked the $33.00 i allocated to each of us and worked it up to $325 slowly lost it all of course. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

My very first Mr. Cool Guy date with Wendy was when
we were dating and I was a few days in New England
on business.

I bought her a ticket to Boston (from Wash DC , her home);
called her at noon Friday and told her to leave work early,
pack a bag, get her ticket waiting at the airport and meet
me in Boston for a lobster dinner. Picked her up in a Sterling
convertible and headed to Mystic Harbour for the weekend.

I guess we had a good time...............
she married me a year later.

Love that place! [/QUOTE] tony, man that would be a fantastic place for a car meet, its got entertainment for everyone kids and adults of all ages "bet" one could get a casino to host. with discount pricing for hotels and plenty more stuff to find along i-95 providence r.i. about 30 minutes away.

My daughter's wedding was in Newport - we love that place - great family vacation spot! Can't wait until grandson is a little older (he's 15 months) so we can all go back & show Newport to him!!
