Koos Fra-ba!!

Ok, once again bringing us back to the topic - this will (I hope) be the last week end without a kitchen! Install starts Monday 21st July.

But are you still linked to that just-in-time delivery of that single base unit?
HOPE it all goes smoothly next week.

That cabinet is supposed to be here by Tuesday, but I'm not holding up the install for that! Worst case scenario is I'd have to have them come back later to install that one cabinet.

Got it. Must be one that isn't critically screwed to others (or involve a counter-top). Many of these beasts are all leveled and screwed together... requiring a bank to go into together.

Right - this one sites all by it's lonesome to the left of the stove.

The day has arrived!! Woo hop!! The installer is here and install in underway!

Good news. I'll bet the finish-line is now in sight. :fat:

By end of day all but one cabinet installed. That will be tomorrow along with the kick plates. The. the counter top guy does his measuring Wednesday and probably another week after that for install.

Now that sounds smooth. Toe-kicks will be a snap.

famous last words.... :D

would love to see pics at the appropriate time boss.

Install is complete, under mount sink is installed, measurements completed for counter tops. New Counter Tops should be installed within 7-10 days (estimate). Actually starting to put the pots and pans away and clear out the living room!

Wait a minute
"under mount sink is installed"

How do you do this before the counter tops are in?

If it's like the ones we've had, they set it into a recess in the sink-base unit so that the flange is flush with where the bottom of the countertop will go. They typically template off all that (with sink in place). When they drop the counter-top on, they'll put down a bead of silicon caulk. Bob's yer uncle.

Well , It's not really installed until the top is on

If you can use it, It's installed.:friendly_wink:

Typically can't you fully use it because the faucet assembly will go through the countertop (though the drain may be hooked up - they often wait on that too in case the sink needs slight re-positioning).

Actually you have to. You install the sink in the sink base cabinet. It is cast iron and stirs on two metal rods that have several padded adjustment scores along their length. Once the sink is installed in the sink cabinet, they set the stone countertop over the top. The sink comes with a cutout template that the stone cutters use to cut out and polish the opening for the sink (before they bring it to the house. Once the counter top is in place, the adjustment screws are adjuster to raise the sink to mate with the underside of the stone top (with silicone sealant of course).

Right, I can't hook up any plumbing until the top is in place.
