For those of you that might be interested in purchasing front Koni shocks for your Triumph, Tirerack.com has them in stock (at least for the TR6) for $97/each. That's $53 cheaper than TRF and $103 cheaper than Moss.

Just thought you might want to know.

I'd like to get the Konis mentioned but TireRack has no knowledge for this application. They asked if I could provide more info - part #, etc.

Can you help?

Thanks - I emailed TireRack. Let's see what they come back with.

The TR6 Konis, as Shannon mentioned, are Part # 80-1784. Koni's web site shows TR3 shocks as part #80-1005 Special Order. The difference in the front end weight alone I suspect would require different valving.

Anyone have any idea on a good default setting for the TR6?

I'm gonna put it in the middle and see what happens. If you put them too stiff (in comparison to the rear suspension) it's like having too much front swaybar. The rear will become a little tail happy.

As far as the TR3 Konis, as long as you have a part number, I think Tirerack can get them. But don't ask them to lookup your car because their database doesn't go back that far.

I put a pair in a previously owned '72 in 1979 and left them at the factory setting - the car was fine. Most folks I've talked with have said set them in the middle. This setting "tightened" the car up considerably.

I saw a post that recommended full soft for front Konis when using Armstrong HDs in the rear for best performance.
Mine are set full soft but I haven't driven my car yet ;-)
