Last night one of our cats (General) started throwing up blood and seemed to not want to eat anything. My wife took him into the Vet this morning and Vet ended up putting him down. Never easy. He was 14 years old and was adopted by use when is just appeared in our yard one day as we were out doing yard work. On the plus side, he did have a fairly good run for a cat (not a record, but still pretty good) and those years were mostly happy and healthy - no long, drawn out problems.

Sorry for your loss. that's never easy. We just celebrated our cat, Wallace's 15th birthday yesterday. He is still keeping the 1 year old kitten in line.
May the happy memories far outweigh the bad.

I am NOT a cat person, but my wife is. We have had to put several down and it is always hard.

Dozens over the years. Last one (BIG Maine Coon) a couple of months ago. Rough. Little Coon missed him...so we got another, 4-year-old male....18 pounds.....but he had a problem...maybe neutered late.....all day long kept trying to mount her or bite her, so he went back to the rescue place Wednesday. Wife cried all day. Don't know what's worse, losing one by death or by removing him from the premises.

Sorry to hear...it's never easy losing a furry family member.

Dave-, ...stranger.
Everything kosher ??

...Er, and you can have our mangy Maine Coon

Basil,

I'm so, so sorry for your loss.

I'll ask my herd to purr a kitty prayer for him.

On top of this I had to attend a funeral today. The Ill daughter of a friend and co-teacher in NAMI died Monday. She had the same illness as my younger son and the exact same birthday as my older son. Been a crappy day all the way around.

Sorry... my condolences.

Two times hateful.

Our Family is now three. Herself, me and a female feline.

...she's about run her race, sibling of Nimrod.

Soon I need to dig another hole.

Hateful whether a pet or a family person, in my estimation.

All th' same.

My condolences for both, boss.

I am so sorry for what you and Mary are feeling now. It is never easy to deal with the loss of a pet. I am also sorry for your friend's loss. We can never understand loss but hopefully in time adjust to it.

Hugs.

Basil,

My sympathies to you and yours
over the loss, human or feline.

It is a process that the earth continues to revolve,
the sun continues to shine,
and the smiles and purr's live on in our memory of them.
