I agree. Stop using this silly email stuff and buy stamps for crying out loud.
But seriously Mickey... foxtrapper pretty much said it. The readers and ebooks don't replace regular books - at least not for most of us. They do provide a practical alternative though.
I got interested when I buying books to take on a trip recently. Then it hit me that instead of carrying a couple of heavy books with me I could just carry a 1/2-pound kindle and buy other books on it if I wanted to.
I've culled my real book collection to mostly just my hard-backs and a few computer books. I'm down to two full book shelves... but from now on I plan on buying ebooks instead of paperbacks. No more finding a place to put the book, no more clutter, and I'll always have the book's content.
Other practical use is for some textbooks. Have you seen some of the computer language books out there? We're talking 4-5" books sometimes. They're huge and heavy, the Kindle version is still 8oz...not to mention you can use the search function to find what you need in the text, and clip parts you need to reference later.
Like I said - they don't replace real books but they are an easy to read, good alternative.
