kind'a like drug dealers

Get your kids into vintage cars and they'll never have the money for drugs, lol.

Yeah, but they'll need the drugs to handle the frustration and aggravation! :jester:

~sigh~

I was going slowly through a parking lot and a 10 or 11 year old says "cool car!" to his mom. I pulled into a space and asked him if he wanted to sit in the drivers seat. This kid got in and was grinning ear to ear.

Warp 'em for LIFE, Elliot!!!

Good on ya!!

Since I started volunteering at Sturbridge Village back in 2003, I've let at least a dozen "young" folks (usually the new farmers) drive my old cars. At first they're reluctant to get in "that old dangerous car" - but when I teach them clutch/shift work, and show them the (visible and identifiable!) engine parts, they're hooked.

Once when a guy wanted to try out my TR3, I said "start slow, the car doesn't have power brakes".

Guy says "What are power brakes?"

Gol dern young whip-snappers!

Went to a family BBQ a weekend or so ago, and, having recently become the proud owner of a late series 3 (1996) Daimler Double Six, which I just happened to park rather prominently, one of my many, many nephews ( 20yr oldish young man) asked if I'd be so kind as to take him for a drive ... So I handed him the keys and said get lost. Am I not just his greatest ( only ) uncle !
It seems he's currently driving a new Ford 1L Turbo, which he claims to have driven up to 145 MPH :angel2:
He thought mine, a 6L V12, pulled ( accelerated ) nicely :rolleye:

Ya gotta love family !
