When I had mine, I didn't think the prep was so bad. Just didn't want to stray too far from a toilet. For me the worst part was not being able to eat.
 
and the *best* part for me - when it's over and the nurse asks "would you like a couple muffins, strawberry jam, and some juice or coffee?"

Welcome back! That's the most important part of the procedure - finding the pre-cancerous polyps and removing them.

Please don't tick me off today because I'll just be more torqued because I won't be able to pass it off and say you're full of doodoo. Seriously glad all is well. Been there, done that and don't want to do it again unless I have no choice.
 
The prep is by far the worst part of the whole thing. Hope you get good results on the polyps removed.
 
After my colorectal cancer surgery three years ago, I have the procedure done annually. As a matter of fact, I've got one coming up at the end of the month. Hey, the way I work it out, except for a few hours of action, it's two days off from work. :glee:

That means you get to do it again in five years instead of ten. Same story here: Just for one of those @!$#** polyps, I'm on a five-year schedule.

Heck... a colonoscapy uses a little 1/4" pipe. If the doc ever telly you he "just" wants to do a "flexible sigmoidoscopy" run, don't walk, to the nearest exit.

These honeys look like a piece of segmented welding cable (3/4" in diameter), 40" long with a lens on one end and a optical viewer on the other. The moniker "flexible" is highly optimistic. While the doc can bend and steer the tube during a colonoscopy, the "flexible sigmoid" relies on your plumbing to bend it. An experience not to be missed.
