I found an old Kienzle ( West Germany) dashboard clock my box of old British car parts and was wondering if anyone has any idea what cars may have used these clocks. The clock is 2 1/2 inches in diameter with a black/chrome bezel and appears to be from the 1960s. The #2351? appears in blue on the back. Thanks.

Series 3 E types used them too. Earlier versions used smiths

Later Stags used Kienzle clocks, but for a standard 2" hole. Earlier cars used Smiths.

A lot of Kienzle's went into Mercedes.

Justin,

DO you have a picture of the clock installed on the center console for the 4/250/6 I have this console and that would make a cool addition.

I dont offhand have a photo of an original console, though I can dig one out if needed, but https://www.triumphconsoles.com/ makes reproductions of the originals, he uses smiths or autometer clocks in his, but other than that, they look identical to the originals.

I purchased one from him for my TR6 restoration and it's very nice quality, if a little expensive.

Hi Art During my restoration on my 80 Spit whitelightning installed an original Amco Spitfire center console complete with 6x9 speaker ash recepticle cigar lighter & hole for a clock.I removed the oem console & armrest & put this Amco in & it looks really nice.I also bought a brand new VDO clock(made in germany)for the dash.Although it probably fits in the console but i chose to put it in the dash. For winter storage i remove the clock & put in a battery operated Tiwanese i found at a discount store fits perfectly & the gold bezel matches the dash. You can see the console @ my old website 'Moorheads Whitelightning Site'At search Google.
