Kidney pad rebuild

Has anyone "rebuilt" or reconditioned your kidney pads, or is it just not worth it considering prices on ebay? I just took one apart as the fiberboard was broken. I also lack the mounting bracket. Anyone made your own bracket? I'd just buy new ones, but what fun is that?

No reason you couldn't if you already have a piece of masonite. You would only need a speed nut to attach to the bracket, assuming your vinyl is good.

The masonite was broken on one of my pads. I just glued a small piece of hard board to use as a sort of splint. worked very well.
