Triumph-related only inasmuch as many of us have several fire extinguishers in garages, cars and the home.

Kidde is doing a recall that seems to include almost all BC and ABC extinguishers with plastic handles. The recall includes other brands that were manufactured by Kidde.

Clicking on ‘Product Safety Recall’ on this page will get you the info.

Pretty simple to submit but you need the extinguisher in hand for the info they need (model/serial/date). I had 4 affected by the recall and they indicate I will receive my replacements in 15-20 business days.

Yes, Halotron is a better choice for use on our cars and is what I carry but the basic BC is also useful around the home and better than nothing should the worst occur.

Good information, thanks for posting.

And now for the "sicko" part, is it just me or did this thread following one about SUs running rich when I saw it seem a bit ominous?

I was surprised to find 2 out of 3 fire extinguishers around my house were on the list. Thanks for the alert Geo.

Just filled out the request form for all three of our fire extinguishers - thanks much Geo!

George,
Thanks for the link. I was just given a Kidde extinguisher as a replacement for the one I used out of my car to extinguish a fire in a friends car. Unfortunately it was on the list. But they say a replacement is on the way to me.
I sent this link on to my local car club so it is getting good coverage.
Thanks again George.

Thanks from here also! Following the link, I found that 6 out of 7 fire extinguishers in our house and cars were on the list. Including the small ones I've dutifully carried around in my TRs since before 1980. Good thing I didn't need 'em!
