Kick Panel Question

BJ7 interior installation is moving along nicely. However, I can't figure out the passenger side kick panel which has a large cut-out in it. What is it for? What fills it up (if anything)?

Hi Griz,

I believe it is like my Phase 1 BJ8 with the center of the panel is filled by a piece of matching vinyl glued to the metal kick area. I also often wondered what the reasoning was behind this opening .... were they thinking of installing hick panel vents?

Thanks Ray. That's easy enough to fix. Just didn't think it was right to have bare metal showing through that hole!

Yeah, if you measure the foot wells, the right side is more narrow than the left, so every fraction would count on right hand drive cars.
