Key holes...

I second adam90009. They were the holes for the shoulder belt anchors. used as such roughly 69 to 72 or 3. Now that I can see the pics, the slot is just for a flat bladed screwdriver. They are just plugs to cover the holes that were still tooled into the later cars but not used. They were never used for securing the factory hardtops. (read my previous post, I thought the same thing when I first saw a "B" with those holes)
If you had one that used the shoulder belts anchored there, those holes would have a chrome stud with a black plastic tab attached to it. It was a quick release for the belt so you could install/uninstall the tonneau (which also had holes in it). Or not have the belt hanging on the bodywork if you weren't using it (like most people on the early 70s)

ah... ok... at least I now know what the heck they are and aren't. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I guess I wouldn't have described them as lock cylinders if they weren't painted over and had paint chipped away at the slot area.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Now we both know Nunyas!!!

Anyone have any pics of the chrome/plastic tab piece in use for the seat belts?
