Chevette with a SawzAll top-down modification... hmmm.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's been done!!!!! a friend of mine called me one day, he had bought a 4 door chevette for $50. We took the sawzall and chopped the roof of it and gave it a custom krylon-touch paintjob. Then 8 of us piled into it and cruized around for about an hour... until what was left of the unibody buckled and the bottom of the car was dragging the ground. one of the doors even broke off. Ah to be 17 again with a $50 car!!!!!!!!
Last time I saw it, all the doors were gone, center of the car still touched the ground, and it had 7" off road lights mounted directly to the hood! Looked like a ralleye car design gone horribly wrong! I'm pretty sure we got $50 worth of fun out of it tho. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
Wonders where Tony found one of those, they hard to come by for sure. Hehe, a Gogomobile. Wait that's not British and it must be British, I think? Hmm, a 'B stretch limo?
Tony has likely found a Gogomobile, the errant Traubie or two and mebbe even a Moskovich now and again from the looks of his "collection" on the website. I wouldn't put ~anything~ past him /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I said it in the tools thread that you guys high jacked... I'll say it here too... I got a really good feelin' that it be an Alfa... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Them Eye-tie cars, particularly Alfas, have a way of luring ya into WANTING to drive 'em daily... regardless of the inconvenience.
As for the sounds they make... ya can listen to all the bits workin' together. Alloy engines make all the right noises. Lovely. Just lovely. Idle or 6K, you know there's something *elegant* goin' on under that hood.
